Combined Treatments for Children
Recent research suggests that using some physical therapies in combination can enhance their overall effectiveness. Anna and her daughter, Frankie have found that using their skills to treat children simultaneously can prove to be very effective.
They treat children with a variety of conditions, including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Juvenile Arthritis, Epilepsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and challenging behaviour. Whilst the treatments provided cannot cure the incurable, they attempt to deal with some of the secondary symptoms these children face on a day to day basis. These can include joint stiffness, sleep problems constipation, headaches, stress and digestive complaints.
Frankie Jaffey is an Associate member of the London and Counties Society of Physiologists (www.lcsp.uk.com). She qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist in 2001, and has been specialising in treating babies and children with disabilities and special needs since 2003. Most of the work she does is mobile, and she visits families all over the Midlands.
One of the most important elements in treating children is establishing a trusting relationship between therapist, child and care providers. Anna and Frankie focus on the emotional, as well as physical needs and encourage both child and carer to relax and enjoy the treatment.
If you think a combined treatment would benefit either you, or someone you care for, please phone for more information or to book a consultation. Treatments can be adapted to suit the particular needs of each child and their family.
